YouTube has more than 2 billion users worldwide, ranking it among the most popular social platforms. In addition, today’s social media landscape is becoming a “video first” world as an increasing number of users are consuming video content on a daily basis. Adding captions to your social media content goes a long way toward making it inclusive for all. Fortunately, it’s easy to add captions to your YouTube videos.

Though savvy content providers can create their own .srt caption files, it’s often a lengthy, time-consuming process. In addition, poorly timed captions, typos, misspellings, bad punctuation and grammar, and display issues can result in a bad viewer experience for individuals viewing your captions.
To increase your chances of getting a viewer’s attention and providing a good viewing experience, you may need the help of a professional captioning company, like VITAC. VITAC’s YouTube Live Captioning integration is simple. Just follow the instructions below to ensure your event is accessible to all your viewers.
When you order your event from our ordering site, you will need to provide us with two separate links from your YouTube Live Stream.
Please note that our captioner will also require an un-buffered audio source to listen to the event. This would typically be an audio coupler or conference bridge.
Once the organizer of the live stream event provides a web link to the event participants, open the link in your web browser. To view captions, you will need to click on the “CC” icon located on the bottom right of the video player. You can adjust the caption settings by clicking on the gear located to the right of the “CC” icon.
