We’re innovators in captioning technology
Our networks and technical operating platforms are robust, scalable, secure, and thoroughly tested. We’ve been called the “no worries captioning company” for a reason.
Our clients rely on us for a wide range of accessibility services. We work with businesses in the following industries and sectors:
VITAC is the largest provider of closed captioning in North America. We have exclusive agreements with several major television networks and many local news networks across the continent. We offer both live captioning and post-production (offline) captioning for a wide range of programs, videos, and events, including:
We also work with school districts, universities, Fortune 100 companies, local businesses, government agencies, and event centers across the country to caption, among other things:
We provide remote meeting integration, including live and post-production captioning solutions, for a variety of virtual platforms. These services make it simple for you to bring accessibility and inclusion to all your important business meetings or after-work gatherings.
We offer Spanish-language captioning, translation, transcription, and Secondary Audio Dubbing (SAP) services, and French-language captions for live and prerecorded programming as well as French captions for English programming (and vice versa). Our multi-language services team provides quick-turnaround translation and subtitling for a variety of languages on almost any video format or web platform.
If you’re looking to share your content more broadly on social media, we can help with that, too. We keep up with the newest technologies, and our social media integration solutions can create captions for all of your live and prerecorded social media video content.
Many TV viewers who are blind or have low vision rely on audio description to experience television programming. In the same manner that captions provide a visual way to experience sound, audio description provides an audio means to experience video.
The service inserts audio-narrated descriptions of a program’s key visual elements into natural pauses between the program’s dialogue. We provide audio description for major television networks, video producers, and corporations.
The terms “subtitles” and “captions” often are used synonymously, especially outside the United States and by online gamers. Though the distinction is nuanced, VITAC offers both. Where captioning is generally a textual representation of all on-screen audio, subtitling is the process in which graphic files are encoded openly into the video.
As with captions, subtitles allow you to reach a larger audience and help make your content accessible to anyone, anywhere. We create subtitles in more than 50 languages for a wide range of clients, including TV networks, broadcasters, video programmers, producers, educational institutions, corporations, and government agencies.
We offer transcription service, in the form of text files, of your captioned event containing everything we captioned for you. These are provided at no extra cost. Transcripts offer your audience additional accessibility, and give you a written record of your audio or video event for review and to share with others.
VITAC offers Spanish dubbing, the creation of a new spoken Spanish audio track for a video originally created in English. Unlike multi-language subtitles, dubbing enables viewers to follow the program’s audio in their native tongue. A professionally dubbed track will fit seamlessly into the video, while also conveying the emotions, tone, and expressions of the originally recorded track, all while working to match lip movements of the original performers or presenters
