Giving Back

VITAC strongly believes in making accessible content standard, and we stand by our commitment to provide captions and accessible solutions for our consumers, the tens of millions of Americans who rely on captioning every day.

We have worked with advocacy groups and caption viewers in the community for more than three decades, and we’re proud of — and benefit greatly from — our strong advocate relationships, including those with:

  • The National Association of the Deaf, the premier civil rights organization of, by, and for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in the United States
  • Hearing Loss Association of America, the nation’s leading organization representing consumers with hearing loss
  • TDI, an active national advocacy organization focusing its energies and resources to address equal access issues in telecommunications and media for people who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, late-deafened, and deaf-blind
  • Hands and Voices, a non-profit, parent-driven organization dedicated to supporting families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing

We also are proud of our long-standing partnerships and active involvement with:

  • The Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, collaborating with the school on everything from golf outings to auctions to awards programs
  • The Center for Hearing and Deaf Services in Pittsburgh, with our Chief Captioning Officer Chuck Karlovits serving on their board and supporting them each year. We were proud to be the recipient of the center’s Richard J. Follett Memorial Award, which recognizes an individual or organization that exhibits compassion, dedication, volunteerism, and a determined commitment toward enhancing the quality of life for persons who are deaf or hard of hearing

We cherish all of our partnerships, and always are looking for ways to enhance existing relationships and strike up new ones.
