VITAC’s latest webinar – “How Offline Captions Work” – is now available online for anyone who missed it or who might want to watch it again.

Unlike captions that are created in real time for live programs or events, offline captions are created in advance for prerecorded programs.

VITAC’s offline captioners are more than just good transcribers and spellers — they are masters of description, line breaks, timing, readability, sound effects, and common style rules that average viewers may not notice. In short, they are experts in their craft.

And it’s a craft we take very seriously.

Hosted by Brittany Winland, VITAC Director of Marketing Communications, and presented by James MacPherson, VITAC Account Manager, the 30-minute webinar details the process of offline captioning and discusses, among other topics, how prerecorded captions are created and broadcast; the role that captions play in everyday life; captioning requirements; and the important things you should know when ordering captions.
