Digital innovation is rapidly transforming traditional broadcast, media, and entertainment industries with a creator economy emerging as a driving force, reshaping the landscape and redefining how content is created, distributed, and monetized.

This year’s National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show in Las Vegas is spotlighting this fast-paced creator economy, or ‘influencer economy,’ that sees content creators and influencers earning revenue from their creations, with a new Creator Lab section on the show floor.

Creator Lab will feature interactive exhibits, expert panels, hands-on workshops, and networking events that focus on creators, equipment, distribution channels, and monetization techniques. The experience is designed for both creators and organizations looking to partner with them, and encompasses the creative, tech, and business of today’s creator economy.

VITAC is excited to be the closed captioning sponsor for Creator Lab and will provide English and Spanish captions for all the discussions, demos, and panels held on the Creator Lab stage. We also will be hosting two informative sessions on media access trends, caption technology, and localization on the Creator Lab stages.

Innovations in Captioning Technology and the Surge in AI Solutions

Join VITAC on Monday, April 15, from 3-3:40 PM PT on the Creator Lab Networking area in South Hall Upper for an in-depth look at media accessibility, recent advancements in captioning and subtitling technology, and the rising demand for AI and automatic speech recognition solutions.

Our captioning technology experts – David Landsberg, Vice President, Product, and James MacPherson, Vice President, Strategic Media Sales – will discuss the continued growth of captions across all M&E, how captions can enhance short-form content like social media videos and stories, and how improvements in ASR and AI technologies have boosted caption accuracy, lowered latencies, and made it easier than ever to be more inclusive to all.

They’ll also share VITAC’s newest AI captioning solution, Captivate, which provides high levels of caption accuracy, flexible, customizable solutions, and support and integrations for multiple file types and platforms.

Expanding Your Audience with Subtitles, Dubbing, and Translation

Join Claire Brown, VITAC’s Vice President of Sales, on Tuesday, April 16, at 11:30 AM PT on the Creator Lab stage in South Hall Upper as she discusses how easy it is to localize your videos and how adding things like subtitles, dubbing, and translations can help boost your video’s SEO ranking, improve user experience, and increase brand awareness. VITAC is a YouTube Recommended Vendor.

More than 92% of all internet users around the world watch videos online every week, with YouTube boasting more than 5 billion videos viewed every day and Snapchat accounting for nearly 14 billion daily video views. Localizing your video content – adding dubbing, subtitles, and translations to make it more accessible to different audiences in different locales – ensures that you’re connecting with all your viewers. In fact, videos with subtitles or dubbing have six times more engagement than non-localized content.
