Take 1, now VITAC, has been contracted to provide post-production scripts for the BBC natural history series “Serengeti,” produced by XIX Entertainment and John Downer Productions

The dramatized nature documentary uses ground-breaking filming techniques and technology to follow the interconnected stories of a cast of savannah animals over the course of one year, and is narrated by award-winning British actor John Boyega.

VITAC provided post-production scripts for the broadcast of “Serengeti” on BBC One as well as for the distribution and localization of the six-part series to broadcasters in the US, Latin America, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Japan, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Estonia, Latvia, Australia, South Africa, the Nordics, Singapore, Poland, Malaysia, the Middle East, and Israel.

The provided scripts include timecode, dialogue, captions, credits, shot descriptions, still/archive footage, and music cues for both the original programs and reversions for international distribution.

VITAC was recommended to John Downer Productions by BBC Studios and “Serengeti” is the first production that the team has worked on for the company. John Downer is a Grammy award-winning director and John Downer Productions has an international reputation for their innovative and immersive approach to wildlife filmmaking.

“We’re very pleased with the [VITAC] service recommended to us by BBC Studios and will certainly return to them when we have suitable projects in the future,” said Anna Thomas, Head of Production at John Downer Productions.
