The New Landscape of Accessible Media Platforms for Entertainment

The 2023 conference will feature panel discussions, open conversations with innovators and disrupters in digital inclusion, networking meetups, brainstorming, and live debates among disability advocacy leaders, business executives, accessibility experts, and information technology and assistive technology providers.

Heather York, Vice President of Marketing and Government Affairs at VITAC, will take part in a panel discussion regarding accessible media platforms for entertainment.

The panel will discuss digital media platforms for entertainment and how the availability of mainstream digital accessibility features and services have progressed over the past few years, the remaining gaps, emerging technologies to watch, and how further progress may be accomplished from a technology, policy, and implementation standpoint.

Heather will be joined by session chair Christian Vogler, Ph.D., Director, Technology Access Program, at Gallaudet University and panelists Lakshmi Ziskin, Senior Product Manager, Prime Video Content Accessibility, at Amazon; Sonali Rai, Media, Culture and Immersive Technologies Lead, at RNIB; and Thomas Wlodkowski, Vice President, Accessibility, at Comcast.

The panel will be on Tuesday, Oct. 10, from 4:15-5:15 PM in Studio E.

AI and Digital Transformation

This year’s summit will focus on how AI drives innovation and automation in multiple areas allowing to scale up digital accessibility and review risks for persons with disabilities that organizations need to mitigate.
