VITAC is in Philadelphia this week participating in the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) annual conference.
The NATOA 2018 Annual Conference is a premier event for local government IT, government access programmers, and communications and cable decision-makers. This year’s annual conference is going on now (August 27-30) in the Loews Philadelphia Hotel.
VITAC and Vice President of Sales Dave Battinieri will be on site to welcome clients and attendees (stop by Booth #12 to say “hi”) and to answer questions about the captioning industry and the myriad services we provide.
Additionally, VITAC Chief Marketing Officer John Capobianco will take part in a Thursday morning (Aug. 30 at 10:45 a.m. ET) panel discussion on “Disaster Preparedness and Response.” Capobianco will discuss, among other things, the role that captions play in keeping television viewers informed of the latest emergency news, whether it be weather-, natural disaster-, or health-related, and keeping television stations, producers, and managers compliant FCC and ADA requirements.
Other panelists include Elizabeth Tracy, program manager for Charlotte County Government, and Ryan Strait, product director, public safety solutions, with CivicPlus. Donna Keating, media services manager and executive producer for Maryland government access channel County Cable Montgomery, will moderate the discussion.
NATOA is a professional association made up of individuals and organizations responsible for and advising on communications policies and services in local governments throughout the country.
This year’s conference features sessions on topics related to video programming, editing, social media video, and updates on legislation and technology affecting local governments.
