The Hearing Loss Association of America’s 2022 convention begins this week in Tampa, Florida.
Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) is the nation’s leading organization representing consumers with hearing loss. HLAA offers programs and events designed to open the world of communication to people with hearing loss by providing information, education, support, and advocacy.
The convention highlights the latest technologies and services, and offers dozens of educational workshops, demos, and informational panels and discussions, including one featuring VITAC’s Heather York, Vice President, Marketing and Government Affairs, and Scott Ready, Verbit’s Director of Customer Success.
Heather and Scott’s session – “What Do You Want to See in Your Captions? A Workshop to Understand Viewer Perspective” – will discuss the differences in captioning method and quality between human-generated captions and those generated solely by automatic speech recognition programs, and will solicit opinions from the audience on which method is preferred. The presentation is scheduled for Thursday, June 23, from 2:45 to 3:45 PM.
The 2022 HLAA convention will be held at the JW Marriott Tampa Water Street from June 23-25.
