VITAC will be among the panelists and presenters at next week’s Silicon Valley Video Producer’s discussion and technology demo on accessibility and inclusion strategies for video production.
VITAC Chief Technology Officer Ted Collins will be featured on a panel discussing advancements in closed captioning. The panel, which also includes Dr. Christian Vogler of Gallaudet University, Ed Delaney of Switch Productions, Dave Franza of TIPLynx, LLC, and Matt Jefferson of Blackmagic Designs, will discuss, among other topics, captions and accessibility, caption quality, and automated speech recognition programs.
The evening also will feature an overview of and introduction to VITAC realtime captions, presented by Ann Cannon, VITAC vice president of sales.
Additional panels and presentations will focus on inclusiveness in the production industry, an introduction to accessibility from a user’s perspective, suggestions on making video technology more accessible, and a discussion on job training for people with exceptional abilities to work in special effects.
Accessibility and Inclusion Strategies for Video Production will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 12, beginning at 6 p.m. at Google’s Sunnyvale Campus. The event is free and open to the public.
