There still is time to sign up for our next webinar – “Navigating New Data on Automatic Speech Recognition” – that analyzes key findings and results of a recent survey that revealed market trends on automatic speech recognition (ASR) technologies and captioning.

Hosted by Verbit’s Michael Rosman, Vice President of Marketing & Corporate Strategy, and David Landsberg, Vice President of Products, the webinar will examine the results of a third-party survey conducted earlier this year with Global Surveyz Research that explored business leaders’ attitudes on captioning and ASR technologies. The informative session will discuss how professionals use ASR and captioning technologies, uncover areas for improvement, and identify barriers that prevent companies from increasing their ASR usage.

“Navigating New Data on Automatic Speech Recognition” will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, July 10, at 12 noon EST.

The report – “Navigating Automatic Speech Recognition” – noted, among other things, that although business leaders understand the importance and benefits of captioning and transcribing their content and experiences, 47% of companies polled were dissatisfied with the accuracy of their current ASR technologies.

Other key takeaways included:

  • Two-thirds of businesses polled say they’re captioning at least half of their audio and video content. More than half of respondents say that they caption 50-75% of their content, while 12% caption 75-99% of their content.
  • Companies are using ASR and other captioning tools for a wide range of business applications, demonstrating the versatility and usefulness of the technology. The most popular uses include reaching greater audiences, supporting internal company needs, and creating transcripts.
  • Nearly all respondents expect their investment in captioning and ASR tools to remain steady or increase in the coming year, with the majority also expressing an interest in exploring complementary generative AI technology to stay competitive.
