Las Vegas is home to a number of popular, groundbreaking performances, such as Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group, and Penn & Teller. So what better place for VITAC to roll out a showstopper of our own?

Photo of people walking on the NAB show floor.VITAC was proud to unveil the newest breakthrough technology in the VITAC Power Connect™ (VPC) family of products at this year’s National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

VPC Control Tower™ is a first-of-its-kind cloud-based application that allows for easy, always-on connections between captioners, events, and clients. It serves as a central hub that establishes multi-level monitoring and management of client programming.

Acting as a traffic director for captions, VPC Control Tower ensures that captioners working with new, specially developed VITAC software are routed to the proper audio and video sources as well as the correct endpoints. VPC Control Tower enables 24/7 monitoring not only of captions and caption paths, but also of the entire captioning workflow process, including captioner readiness, caption transmission, and transcript delivery.

The National Association of Broadcasters show, geared towards the media, entertainment, and technology industries, showcased innovations and solutions for professional content creators and managers. The annual conference boasts more than 100,000 attendees from 160 countries. In other words, it was the perfect place to spread the word about VITAC’s newest captioning and accessibility services.

VITAC also hosted a dinner for clients at NAB 2019 that allowed us to catch up with friends and colleagues. The evening featured speaker Bob Treadway, a recognized strategy advisor, who shared his views on the captioning industry and some of the successes and challenges that might lie ahead.
