Screenshot of VITAC's caption ordering websiteVITAC is thrilled to announce updates to two of our popular services and products – the VITAC caption ordering site and our Internet Captioning Streamer (ICS) player.

The updates will provide even greater client service by offering new easy-to-use options when ordering captions and allowing for stronger communication between clients and captioners.

Clients ordering ICS service through VITAC’s order site − order.vitac.com − will receive more detailed confirmation emails.

Order site confirmation emails now include:

  • Event/program titles
  • Event notes (as entered by the client)
  • Event/program duration
  • Dial-in information

These new details will enable clients to double-check information provided when booking, forward information to meeting hosts, and ensure captioner connectivity. Clients that prefer not to see this information in their confirmation emails, perhaps for confidentiality reasons, may choose to opt-out of the detailed confirmations.

Additionally, clients wishing to download a transcript of their ICS event, meeting, or webinar can now choose to receive those transcripts in multiple download formats, including:

  • Plain text (.txt)
  • Rich text (.rtf)
  • Word 97-2004 (.doc)
  • Word document (.docx)
  • PDF

Transcripts can be accessed during or after any ICS event by choosing the “transcript” button at the top of the screen, and then navigating to “save transcript” at the bottom. Choosing the disk icon presents the user with the new format options.

VITAC’s captioning order site underwent a refresh earlier this year, making it even easier for clients to order new captioning services and update already scheduled captioning projects. The new ordering site featured streamlined visual elements, including easy-to-read text and colorful, branded graphics that better reflect and represent VITAC and its clients.

And the new design and functionality was well-received as a recent customer survey showed an overwhelming majority of respondents gave high marks when it came to the ease of ordering captions. (Not to brag, but we also garnered top marks for project turnaround time, caption file and video delivery methods, client communication, troubleshooting and issue resolution, 24/7 tech support, and responsiveness to reformats, fixes, and last-minute changes!)

VITAC is the largest provider of live and prerecorded captioning products and services in the United States, responsible for more than 11,000 hours of captioning every week. Our clients include every major broadcasting company, most cable networks, program producers, corporations, educational institutions, and government agencies.
